Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, FL seeks a Monitor Technician (PRN) to interpret cardiac rhythms, monitor telemetry, and report patient status to nursing staff. You will maintain telemetry supplies and record patient conditions using computerized systems, while adhering to age-specific care factors.

Requirements include BLS, completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course, and strong medical terminology knowledge. Hospital monitor tech experience is preferred. No travel required.

Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course; ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• CMT/Cardiac experience preferred; monitor tech experience preferred.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required; BLS within 30 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Interpret rhythms and arrhythmias.
• Report changes in heart rate/rhythm to nursing staff.
• Maintain telemetry supplies.
• Record patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Follow age-specific factors in patient care.
• Orient and mentor new staff members.
• Follow Standard Precautions with PPE.

Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• CMT/Cardiac Experience Preferred
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
