Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking team members for cardiac rhythm monitoring, including patients supported by devices such as pacemakers and AICD. You will document rhythm changes and report them according to protocol, with emphasis on accuracy and patient safety.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course; BLS certification is also required. Prior telemetry experience is preferred, and routine scheduling is provided with onsite benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course; anatomy and physiology courses may be required.
• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA; other life support certifications may be required per unit.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient cardiac rhythms and report changes per protocol.
• Observe and document rhythm changes for patients with pacemakers or AICD.
• Maintain focus and accuracy while monitoring multiple CRT screens.

Job description

Responsible for the cardiac monitoring of patients including those with technological support (i.e., pacemakers, AICD). Documents changes in rhythm and reports these changes according to established protocol.

Requires high school graduate or equivalent. Requires successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course; anatomy and physiology courses and/or related courses.

• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course and/or related courses required.
• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Requires thorough knowledge of arrhythmia recognition.
• Requires good visual acuity and sustained concentration to effectively observe cardiac rhythms on CRTs.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Previous experience with telemetry monitoring or related field is preferred.

Schedule

Mon, Tues, & Wed 6:30a - 7:00p with no call/no weekends. Holiday rotation is required.
