Position Overview: Observes and monitors cardiac monitors, interprets dysrhythmias and alarms, transcribes physician orders, and facilitates inter- and intra-departmental communication. Acts as unit receptionist.

Job Accountabilities:

1. Unit Secretary: Facilitates communication among staff, doctors, patients, and visitors; answers calls and call lights promptly; transcribes physician orders; maintains patient charts.
2. Monitor Technician: Observes cardiac monitors for dysrhythmias; interprets rhythms; adjusts alarms; notifies nurses of changes; maintains inventory.

Maintains high standards of excellence, supports the mission through compassionate care, and applies continuous quality improvement principles.

Education: Equivalent experience accepted; HS Diploma plus one year related experience or equivalent.

Certification & Licensure: Rhythm Interpretation certification within 90 days.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to interpret documents, write reports, communicate effectively, perform basic math, and solve problems involving multiple variables.

Job Shift: Nights

Schedule: Short Hour

Shift Hours: 8

Days of the Week: Variable

Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
