Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW

This role involves performing continuous observation, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under the supervision of the RN.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accurately analyze, interpret, and record ECG rhythms according to procedure. (30%)
2. Maintain continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport. Identify changes and respond or report to the RN as appropriate. (30%)
3. Clean and maintain telemetry monitors/holders and account for monitors upon patient discharge. (10%)
4. Demonstrate knowledge of central station and bedside monitors. Ensure alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings. (20%)
5. Perform other unit-specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry, and answering phones. (10%)
6. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire is required.
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
