The role you’ll contribute:

An EKG Monitor Technician works under the direction of the professional nurse, providing close surveillance of EKG monitors and communicating the rhythm status to the nurses. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable rules and regulations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Performs proper and legible documentation in accordance with department policy, including in the telemetry logbook.
• Continuously observes monitors, recognizes and documents normal EKG patterns, and notifies nursing staff of abnormal patterns promptly.
• Maintains telemetry printouts during cardiac arrest and as indicated.
• Ensures monitor alarms are set and audible every shift, troubleshoots monitors as needed.
• Participates in practice changes based on performance improvement activities.
• Demonstrates accurate documentation and monitoring, supporting quality standards and initiatives.
