Position Overview

Observes and monitors cardiac monitors, interprets dysrhythmias, and alarms. Transcribes physician orders and facilitates all inter- and intra-departmental communications. Acts as unit receptionist.

Job Description

Job Accountabilities

• Unit Secretary: Facilitates communication among staff, doctors, patients, and visitors. Answers calls promptly. Transcribes physicians' orders. Maintains patient charts.
• Monitor Technician: Observes cardiac monitors for dysrhythmias. Interprets rhythms, adjusts alarms, and notifies nurses of changes. Maintains inventory and coordinates housekeeping.

Supports the mission by providing compassionate care and respecting dignity. Applies principles of continuous quality improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and one year related experience or equivalent
• Rhythm Interpretation certification within 90 days
• Skills in interpreting documents, communication, basic math, and problem-solving
