Prime Healthcare is seeking a Monitor Technician for the Telemetry unit in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on observing and interpreting patients' heart rhythms and vital data from telemetry equipment to alert the medical team of abnormalities.

The Tele Monitor Tech detects early signs of cardiac events, ensuring timely intervention and improved patient outcomes in a fast-paced unit. Part-time, night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am) with full benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for all new hires.
• Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained.
• Six months experience in healthcare or as Monitor Technician.

Responsibilities

• Cardiac monitoring, observe and interpret heart rhythms (ECG/EKG) on telemetry monitors.
• Recognize normal/abnormal cardiac patterns and document findings.
• Notify nurses/physicians of significant changes, escalate life-threatening issues immediately.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot telemetry equipment and electrodes.
• Ensure proper signal transmission and resolve issues with connections or equipment.
• Record telemetry readings in the patient record and generate rhythm strips for analysis.

We are seeking a Monitor Technician , sometimes referred to as our Telemetry Monitor Technician (Tech) or Tele Monitor Tech. A Tele Monitor Tech will be responsible for observing and interpreting patients’ heart rhythms and other vital data transmitted by telemetry equipment. This role is crucial for identifying and alerting the medical team to any abnormalities or critical changes in a patient’s cardiac or health status. The Monitor Technician detects early warning signs of cardiac events, ensuring timely intervention, and improving patient outcomes in our telemetry unit.

Responsibilities

• C ardiac monitoring, observe and interpret heart rhythms (ECG/EKG) displayed on telemetry monitors
• R ecognize normal and abnormal cardiac patterns, such as arrhythmias, and document findings
• N otify nurses or physicians of any significant changes in a patient’s heart rhythm or vital signs promptly, elevate critical issues (e.g., life-threatening) immediately
• S et up, maintain , and troubleshoot telemetry equipment, including electrodes and monitors
• E nsure proper signal transmission and resolve issues with poor connections or faulty equipment
• R ecord telemetry readings in the patient’s medical record for documentation and review, generate rhythm strips for analysis by the medical team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for all new hires, effective April 2014.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Six months previous experience in Healthcare or as Monitor Technician
