Qualifications

Overview:

Sentara is currently hiring a Monitor Technician in Hampton, Virginia!

This is a Full-Time, Night shift opportunity with GREAT benefits!

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week

Shift hours: 6 pm - 7 am

The Monitor Tech observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. They promptly notify the appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. The technician operates and utilizes monitoring systems to full capacity, ensuring proper and safe functioning of telemetry equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
  • If not completed at hire, candidates must complete a certificate program within 90 days.
  • Alternatively, 1 year of recent experience (within the last 5 years) in monitor technician surveillance can substitute for the training requirement.
  • All new employees must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency and pass a basic arrhythmia exam before completing orientation.
