Job summary

Mercy in Fort Smith is seeking a Monitoring Technician to supervise patient cardiac monitors and promptly alert RNs and clinicians of rhythm changes. The role requires attention to detail, quick decision-making, and strong communication within a collaborative care team.

Responsibilities include reviewing patient data to assess rhythm patterns and maintaining accurate documentation while supporting Mercy's mission and service standards. Basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Monitor tech course completion or 85% exam pass.
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to work under pressure.
• Preferred: CRAT certification.

Position Details:

The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.
Preferred Experience: Experience preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred Certifications: CRAT certification preferred.
