Job summary

PIH Health Downey Hospital is seeking a Monitor Tech/Unit Clerk to support patient flow and cardiac monitoring under supervision. The role involves handling clerical tasks and assisting licensed staff to ensure smooth care delivery.

Requirements include a California license/certification, ability to interpret EKGs, and solid communication. Bilingual Spanish or Chinese is preferred; hospital experience is advantageous. Night shifts with a shift differential apply.

Qualifications

• Current California license/certification/registration will be required according to associate position.
• Typing/computer skills.
• Prior hospital experience or formal classroom education and inservice orientation.
• Successful completion of Basic EKG Interpretation.
• Bilingual Spanish or Chinese preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology or course completion within 6 months.
• 1-2 years hospital/healthcare clerical/office or unit clerk experience preferred.
• CCC Monitor Tech/Unit Clerk – BCLS card required.

Provides cardiac monitoring and clerking duties under the direction/supervision of licensed or certified staff in areas of training. Performs duties necessary to maintain the flow of patient care.
