Job summary

PIH Health Downey Hospital is seeking personnel to provide cardiac monitoring and clerking duties under supervision, ensuring smooth patient flow and safe care. You will assist licensed staff and coordinate with the care team to support timely patient throughput.

Qualifications include California licensure/registration, Basic EKG interpretation, and 1–2 years hospital/healthcare clerical or unit clerk experience. Bilingual skills and familiarity with medical terminology are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current California license/certification/registration required for associate position.
• Typing/computer skills required.
• Prior experience in acute facility preferred or related training.
• Successful completion of Basic EKG Interpretation.
• Bilingual Spanish or Chinese preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology or completion of course within 6 months.
• 1-2 years hospital/healthcare clerical/office or unit clerk experience preferred.
• CCC Monitor Tech/Unit Clerk – BCLS card required.

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiac monitoring and clerking duties under supervision to support patient flow.
• Maintain flow of patient care and assist licensed staff as directed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the care team.
