Job summary

PIH Health Hospital Downey is seeking a dedicated unit clerk/monitor tech to support cardiac monitoring and clerical duties under supervision. The role focuses on maintaining patient flow in a busy acute care setting in Downey, CA.

Strong communication, organization, and basic computer skills are essential; BCLS is required. The position offers night shifts with a differential and the salary range listed as $23.00–$37.78 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current California license/certification/registration required.
• 1-2 years hospital/healthcare clerical experience preferred.
• Successful completion of Basic EKG Interpretation.
• CCC Monitor Tech/Unit Clerk – BCLS card required.
• Bilingual Spanish or Chinese preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology or completion of course within 6 months.
• Typing/computer skills.
• Prior experience in acute facility preferred or formal classroom education and formal hospital/inservice orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provides cardiac monitoring and clerking duties under the direction/supervision of licensed or certified staff in areas of training.
• Performs duties necessary to maintain the flow of patient care.
