Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood seeks a Monitor Technician to assure telemetry signal integrity and document patient heart rate and rhythm. You will notify nursing staff of changes and assist with clerical duties to support efficient patient care.

Responsibilities include prioritizing tasks, demonstrating initiative, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality within an adult and geriatric population, contributing to a high-quality care environment at our Kingwood campus.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Monitor Technician is responsible for assuring the integrity of each monitored patient’s telemetry signal; interpreting and documenting patient heart rate, rhythm, and aberrancies; notifying nursing staff of rate/rhythm changes. The Monitor Technician may also assist with clerical functions, including order transcription, telephone communications, and other duties as assigned. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the adult and geriatric population.

• Is aware of resources available for ethical concerns and makes appropriate referrals.
• Practices cost-efficiency.
• Performs technical skills proficiently in accordance with established standards, as evidenced by annual validation processes.
• Demonstrates appropriate skills for assigned area/task.
• Anticipates needed supplies/equipment prior to beginning assigned task.
• Demonstrates ability to operate departmental equipment.
