Job summary

St. David's HealthCare seeks a Monitor Technician to observe and interpret cardiac telemetry at a central monitoring station. You will record rhythm data, perform clerical duties, and support nursing staff by communicating rhythm changes promptly.

Experience preferred with on-the-job training in dysrhythmia interpretation at orientation, and a high school diploma or GED. Basic EKG training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous Monitor Technician experience preferred.
• On-the-job training in dysrhythmia interpretation with an 85% pass rate.
• High school diploma or GED required or preferred equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients who have cardiac telemetry ordered.
• Constantly observe and monitor patients to detect rhythm changes.
• Obtain rhythm strips and label with patient information.
• Inform primary nurse of rhythm changes and life-threatening dysrhythmias.
• Maintain records of each patient’s cardiac rate and rhythm.
• Prepare equipment and maintain floor stock for patients.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Monitor Technician, you will maintain close observation of the electrocardiograph patterns of patients. You will observe and interpret cardiac telemetry tracings at a central monitoring station, and record rhythm data at regular intervals. You will also perform a variety of clerical duties.

Job Requirements

Experience
