Job Summary
Monitor Technician at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe. Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager for the Intermediate Care Unit and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocation Nurse, the Monitor Technician provides continual telemetry monitoring and a variety of patient care activities for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients on the unit.
Responsibilities
- Organize patient care and general unit activities in collaboration with licensed staff.
- Apply growth and development principles to identify patient and family needs.
- Adapt care activities to meet developmental level and safety precautions for patients.
- Provide patient care utilizing correct nursing principles, procedures and techniques under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Accept responsibility for performance of duties and anticipate potential patient problems or emergencies.
- Maintain a safe, orderly environment for individual patient care.
- Prioritize and organize care for each patient, using patient input when possible.
- Complete work within acceptable time limits and perform several tasks simultaneously during peak workload situations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to protect from chemical, radiation and infectious hazards.
- Communicate through appropriate channels and keep supervisor informed of patient care issues.
- Facilitate the overall operation of the IMU Department and maintain appropriate levels of stock supplies.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
- Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
