Job summary

Worley is seeking a highly experienced Process Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) in fluorine gas production via molten fluoride salt electrochemistry and related systems. The role provides technical leadership for design, development, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of fluoride-salt electrochemical processes across advanced chemical, nuclear, and fuel-cycle applications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical/Process/Nuclear/Electrochemical/Materials engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant industrial experience.
• Expertise in molten salt electrochemistry or industrial electrolysis.
• Experience with fluoride-salt systems and fluorine production.
• Experience in electrochemical cell design and balance-of-plant systems.
• Strong understanding of electrode kinetics, mass transfer, and corrosion.
• Ability to function as a client-facing SME.
• Experience with safety reviews and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME for molten fluoride salt electrochemistry and high‑temperature electrochemical processes.
• Lead process design and technology development for KF/HF electrolysis and fluorine facilities.
• Support wet hydrofluorination and dry fluorination for UF6 production.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, control philosophies.
• Support scale-up from lab to commercial implementation.
• Provide expertise in electrolyzer cell design and electrolyte chemistry.
• Interface with clients and support business development and proposals.
• Mentor junior process engineers.
