Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking an entry-level Molten Salt Engineer with opportunities to grow into experimental design and project leadership. You will support salt chemistry testing, SOP execution, and quality controls on Blanket System projects.

As familiarity grows, your role expands to test cell design, materials corrosion studies, and coordination with safety and ARC Design Team. The position emphasizes teamwork, rigorous safety practices, and the ability to drive experiments that

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical, Materials or Nuclear Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in an R&D environment (PhD counts).
• Experience with R&D in a chemical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating new in-house experimental setups: requirements, fabrication, testing, operation.
• Perform salt characterization testing and improve repeatability and robustness.
• Calibrate tests including electrochemical ones.
• Analyze data to characterize salt quality.
• Contribute to chemical and material system requirements.
