Job summary

BioFire Defense is seeking a Scientist I in Salt Lake City to initiate and direct molecular R&D efforts, applying PCR, RT-PCR, and real-time PCR to product development. You will lead a team of Research Associates and work across departments to advance innovative solutions.

Candidates should hold a PhD in molecular biology or related field, with 2–5 years of research experience. Training includes notebooks, quality systems, and potential publications or patents.

Qualifications

• PhD required in a scientific discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in a research/development environment.
• Familiarity with PCR-based nucleic acid detection methods.

Responsibilities

• Plans and executes laboratory research supporting new product development.
• Develops processes and procedures for product line maintenance.
• Maintains notebooks and adheres to BioFire Defense Quality System.
• Collaborates across departments and mentors junior staff.
