Job summary

Signature Science, LLC in Austin, TX seeks a highly motivated biologist (MS or PhD) to join our biological science R&D team. You will develop and optimize laboratory assays for pathogen detection, leveraging molecular biology, DNA sequencing, and bioinformatics to create applied public health solutions.

This is an on-site role requiring 3+ years of lab experience; collaboration with engineers and scientists is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, microbiology, bioinformatics or related field.
• Experience with standard molecular biology techniques and lab assays development/validation.
• Familiarity with sequencing technologies (Nanopore) and basic bioinformatic analysis pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize laboratory assays for pathogen detection.
• Independently design and execute laboratory experiments.
• Troubleshoot issues and analyze data using industry best practices.
• Perform DNA sequencing and basic bioinformatic analysis of sequencing data.
• Contribute to SOPs and laboratory documentation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and present findings.
