Job summary

ChromoLogic LLC seeks a Senior Scientist, Microbiology to lead diagnostic research across infectious diseases, cancer biomarkers, and molecular diagnostics. Responsibilities include designing assays, executing NGS workflows, and mentoring teams.

Role requires a Ph.D. with 3+ years of experience, strong bioinformatics understanding, and a track record in interdisciplinary collaboration and scientific publishing.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in microbiology or a related biomedical field.
• 3+ years of postdoctoral, industrial, government, or equivalent research experience.
• Expertise in microbiology and molecular biology techniques such as genomic DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR/ddPCR, microbial culture, and metagenomics.
• Experience with infectious disease diagnostics and microbial genomics.
• Strong bioinformatics understanding for genomic/transcriptomic analyses.
• Proven ability to design experiments, analyze data, and lead research initiatives.
• Excellent scientific writing with publications, reports, patents, or grants.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary research environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, optimization, and validation of molecular and microbial diagnostic assays.
• Drive research programs in infectious diseases, cancer biomarkers, and precision medicine.
• Design and execute NGS, metagenomics, and transcriptomics experiments.
• Interpret data and identify diagnostic targets and biomarkers.
• Collaborate across bioinformatics, clinicians, engineers, and external partners.
• Mentor junior scientists and research associates; lead cross-functional teams.
