Job summary

Vitrolife Group in Torrance, CA is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to support molecular testing workflows in reproductive health and genetic diagnostics. The role emphasizes precision, adherence to CLIA/CAP standards, and collaboration within a fast-paced lab.

Ideal candidates will have a strong molecular biology background, hands-on experience with PCR and related techniques, and the ability to work flexible hours including overtime and nights as needed to support operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology (or chemical/biological sciences with supervised experience).
• Molecular biology skills including RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis are advantageous.
• Experience with real-time PCR, microarray or sequencing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform tests; review and report results.
• Perform high complexity tests as authorized by supervisor/Director.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling and documentation.
• Maintain safety and quality control protocols.
• Identify issues affecting test performance and notify leadership.
• Document non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Register samples and ensure proper documentation.
• Work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and overnight shifts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure workflow efficiency.
• Maintain organization and accountability in laboratory operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
