Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care is seeking a qualified Molecular Technologist to independently perform routine and complex molecular tests, including DNA/RNA extraction and PCR, while ensuring accurate results and adherence to state and federal regulations. The role supports education, protocol development, and effective communication with physicians and care teams.

The position requires relevant degrees and CLIA lab experience, with attention to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Doctoral, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or Physics.
• Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical lab technology.
• Educational equivalent to Associate’s degree with at least: 60 semester hours including 24 semester hours of medical lab technology.

Responsibilities

• Independently and accurately perform routine and complex molecular testing, including DNA/RNA extraction and PCR.
• Review preliminary and final test results.
• Assist in resolution of technical problems in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
• Record, compile and maintain records according to laboratory policies to ensure state and federal regulations are upheld for all reagents, procedures, and equipment used in the testing process.
• Assist in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new procedures and protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Coordinate daily communications of laboratory with physicians and other parties.
• Participate in educational activities.
• Perform other related work as required.
