A leading biotechnology firm in Houston is seeking a Molecular Technologist / Technician to perform routine laboratory procedures and analyze data. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1-3 years of laboratory experience. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
1-3 years of hands‑on laboratory experience (academic or industry).
Experience with molecular techniques such as PCR/qPCR preferred.
Strong understanding of molecular biology principles.
Ability to accurately follow protocols and pay close attention to detail.
Basic data analysis and interpretation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis software is a plus.
Good organizational, time management, and problem‑solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
Perform routine molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction and purification.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), laboratory protocols, and quality control standards.
Accurately record experimental data, maintain laboratory notebooks, and ensure proper documentation.
Analyze experimental and/or clinical data using appropriate software tools and methodologies.
Prepare data summaries, reports, and visualizations; present findings.
Assist in assay validation, optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
Maintain inventory of reagents and consumables; support ordering and restocking.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
Collaborate with team members and support cross-functional projects.
