Job summary

Axle is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the NIH/NHLBI team in Bethesda, MD, performing molecular biology assays and routine lab procedures. The role supports translational research with emphasis on nucleic acids and proteins handling, under supervision of principal investigators and senior scientists.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate or Bachelor degree with relevant experience, understands lab safety, and can manage inventories, logs and equipment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with at least four years of experience or B.S. with at least two years in molecular biology or related field.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques and lab safety practices.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access and GraphPad Prism.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures and assays under PI and senior scientists.
• Maintain inventory and procure supplies and equipment.
• Manage lab logs and documentation and ensure safety compliance.
• Collaborate with team to improve laboratory methods and procedures.
• Prepare reports and present data to supervisors and collaborators.
