Job summary

Kelly Government Solutions in Bethesda, MD seeks a Biospecimen Laboratory Technician to support NHLBI research programs. You will perform centrifugation, aliquoting, cryopreservation, and accessioning of biospecimens with strict attention to sample integrity and QA/QC.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Biology or related field and at least 2 years of laboratory experience; familiarity with LIMS and freezer monitoring systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in biobank, clinical, or research setting.
• Proficiency in laboratory skills and equipment; strong data entry and computer skills; familiarity with LIMS and freezer monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Support Biospecimen Core's mission to provide high-quality biospecimens for research and clinical applications.
• Process biospecimens (blood, tissue, DNA, RNA) by centrifugation, aliquoting, cryopreservation, and accessioning.
• Protect sample integrity by executing procedures with precision.
• Operate centrifuges, freezers, and automated systems; perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Respond to freezer temperature alarms, 7 days a week.
• Enter and maintain accurate sample data in the LIMS; conduct routine verifications.
• Accession incoming shipments for archival storage and verify specimens against manifests.
• Catalog and organize frozen biospecimens; reconcile inventory with database.
