Job summary

Axle is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the National Institutes of Health (NIH) NHLBI team in Bethesda, MD. The role centers on performing lab procedures (handling human samples, nucleic acid and protein extraction), and molecular biology assays under supervision.

The position requires an Associates with four years or a Bachelor’s with two years in molecular biology or related field, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, GraphPad Prism.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with at least four (4) years of experience or Bachelor’s with at least two (2) years of experience in molecular biology or a related field is required
• Field of Study: Molecular Biology
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, and GraphPad Prism.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures and assays under PI and senior scientists, including DNA/RNA/protein work and PCR.
• Maintain laboratory logs, inventory, and procurement of supplies.
• Ensure laboratory safety compliance and proper waste management.
• Prepare reports and present data to supervisors and collaborators.

Education

Associates degree with at least four (4) years of experience or Bachelor’s with at least two (2) years of experience in molecular biology or a related field
