Job summary

nuCare Medical Solutions, Inc seeks an Assistant Scientist for a short-term contract in an on-site laboratory. The role centers on executing bench-scale molecular biology experiments with emphasis on PCR assays, sample preparation, and routine laboratory maintenance.

The candidate will handle nucleic acid extraction, perform qPCR/RT-PCR workflows, and document data in ELN while adhering to SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related life sciences.
• 1–3 years of hands-on lab experience running PCR/qPCR workflows.
• Experience with nucleic acid extraction and standard or quantitative PCR.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and high-throughput PCR assays (qPCR, RT-PCR, standard end-point PCR) per SOPs.
• Extract, isolate, and quantify DNA/RNA from various matrices.
• Prepare master mixes, plates, primers/probes, and standard curves with precision to minimize cross-contamination.
• Analyze run data (Ct values, melt curves) and document results in ELN.
• Maintain inventory and calibration of thermocyclers and related equipment.
