Job summary

Unified Women's Healthcare is seeking a Molecular Lab Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the molecular laboratory, ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, supervise staff, and validate new tests.

The role includes troubleshooting test issues, maintaining QC records, coordinating sample delivery with Care departments, and driving improvements in workflow, quality, efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in molecular and/or microbiology.
• Experience with Hologic/Gen-Probe Panther Instrumentation for CT/GC & HPV.
• ASCP certification in Molecular Biology (MB) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Supervising molecular technologists and laboratory assistants in the accessioning, performance and interpretation of molecular microbiology specimens.
• Provide back-up to other positions in the laboratory.
• Prepare for CAP and other inspections.
• Perform required compliance tasks.
• Participate in other projects and perform other duties as needed.
• Responsible for overall performance of the molecular department.
• Participate in meetings.
• Attend staff meetings and applicable training.
• Complete special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
