Job summary

Unified Women’s Healthcare is seeking a Molecular Technologist to handle pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical specimen processing with a strong focus on QA/QC and documentation. This role supports our nationwide women’s health initiatives by ensuring accurate testing and reporting through LIS systems.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science and relevant certifications, with additional MB certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • MB Certification preferred.
  • Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent education and training.

Responsibilities

  • Performs simple to complex assays utilizing established departmental protocols.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to all SOPs, policies, and protocols.
  • Performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing processes accurately and timely, as well as independently.
  • Reports results via the LIS.
  • Prepares clinical specimens for testing and identifies specimen-related problems.
  • Establishes and performs proper quality control measures in accordance with lab standards.
  • Documents QC activities to support QA initiatives.
  • Identifies problems that may affect test performance and reports findings.
  • Documents corrective actions when test systems deviate from specifications.
  • Assists supervision in ensuring efficient workflow and communicates delays.
  • Monitors turnaround time and workflow processes.
  • Assists in validation documentation of new tests and procedures.
  • Maintains records that PT samples are tested like patient samples.
  • Cleans and maintains lab equipment and workspace.
  • Maintains inventory for reagents and ancillaries to support lab functions.
  • Follows health and safety regulations when handling specimens.
  • Complies with chemical hygiene and lab safety procedures.
  • Complies with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science
MB Certification
Associate degree in laboratory science
