Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science.
• ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent accreditation or letter of Technologist eligibility from ASCP required; must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
• Experience with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for examination and performs complex tests using automated equipment.
• Performs start-up, QC, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments per lab protocols.
• Evaluates QC and calibration results and reports patient results in a timely manner.
• Ensures accuracy of test results and enters data into LIS; reports urgent results to providers.
