Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II in Chantilly, VA, for a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule in the Clinical Laboratory - Molecular Genetics department. The role performs moderate to high complexity testing with independent judgment, ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will troubleshoot instruments, support QC programs, and document results in the LIS, while contributing to process improvements and staff training.

Qualifications

• 1 year laboratory experience in high complexity testing
• Proficiency in quality control and SOP adherence
• Experience with Lab Information Systems (LIS) and instrument maintenance

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests per SOPs ensuring QC requirements
• Support QC, troubleshooting, instrument maintenance and staff training
• Enter results into LIS for standardized physician reports
• Release California results and maintain safe lab conditions
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements
