Job summary
Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for our Chantilly, VA location in the Clinical Laboratory – Molecular Genetics department. The position runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a competitive pay range and comprehensive benefits starting Day 1 for eligible employees.
The role involves performing moderate to high complexity testing, troubleshooting instruments, ensuring QC, and maintaining accurate records in LIS.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree with certification in Medical Laboratory Science from ASCP/AMT/AAB or equivalent.
- BSMT or Medical Technology degree from an accredited program.
- 1 year of high-complexity testing experience in a clinical setting.
- Biological sciences degree with required clinical testing coursework and 1 year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform and report on high/moderate complex tests with independent judgment.
- Provide QC support, troubleshoot complex problems, and assist in training and process improvements.
- Document results in LIS and ensure turnaround times and quality requirements are met.
- Maintain safety, proper specimen handling, and adherence to CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA requirements.
- Assist with audits, investigations, and lead responsibilities when needed.
