Job summary

Genesis Biotechnology Group is seeking a Laboratory Technician for Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL), a clinical lab specializing in automated DNA-based molecular analysis. The technician will perform accessioning, RNA/DNA extraction, PCR setup, gel electrophoresis, and sequencing prep in a regulated laboratory environment.

The role requires meticulous sample handling, adherence to safety and privacy guidelines, and ability to operate robotic and manual extraction systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related science field.
• Experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Print labels and attach requisitions to the specimens.
• Accession multiple specimen types and photograph all specimens.
• Identify and record discrepant information and file paperwork.
• Scan accessioned requisitions and 2-D barcode elution tubes.
• Perform manual and robotic extraction steps as required.
• Prepare PCR setups and run thermocyclers for amplification.
• Assist with gel electrophoresis and data capture.
• Support next-generation sequencing prep and data review.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain laboratory privacy.
