Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioengineering, systems biology, or a related field required.
• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory or biotechnology-industry experience.
• Strong experimental design, analytical thinking, and problem solving.
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques (e.g., aseptic technique, transfection, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, cloning, sequencing, immunoblotting, FACS, microscopy).
• Familiarity with multi-omics study design, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and systems biology.
• Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute molecular and cellular biology experiments involving CHO cell cultures to generate substrate for multi-omics analyses.
• Design and execute experiments to examine gene copies, transcript levels, protein folding, assembly, trafficking, secretion, and degradation.
• Analyze and interpret data using statistical, bioinformatics, and pathway-analysis tools.
• Document findings and prepare technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
• Collaborate with cell-line development scientists, bioprocess engineers, analytical scientists, and computational biologists.
• Comply with laboratory safety and data-integrity requirements.

Overview

The Molecular and Cellular Biologist will support efforts to apply multi-omics & systems biology approaches to improve mammalian cell culture performance for the production of recombinant proteins.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute molecular and cellular biology experiments involving the transfection, passaging, and sampling of CHO cell cultures to generate substrate for multi-omics analyses.
• Design and execute experiments to examine gene copies, transcript levels, protein folding, assembly, trafficking, secretion, and degradation.
• Analyze and interpret data using statistical, bioinformatics, and pathway-analysis tools.
• Document findings and prepare technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
• Collaborate with cell-line development scientists, bioprocess engineers, analytical scientists, and computational biologists.
• Comply with laboratory safety and data-integrity requirements.

• Familiarity with multi-omics study design, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and systems biology.
• Strong understanding of molecular cell biology fundamentals including DNA replication, transcription, translation, proteostasis, metabolism, cellular stress mechanisms, and their relation to recombinant protein production.
• Experience with mammalian and/or CHO cell culture, antibody production, multi-omics technologies, molecular perturbation methods, and regulated laboratory environments is preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work well and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to experimental rigor, documentation, reproducibility, and scientific integrity.
