Job description

We are seeking a Research Associate I to support cell line development and upstream process development activities for biologic production programs. This role will contribute to mammalian cell culture operations, bioreactor studies, process development experiments, and laboratory support activities while generating high-quality data and maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mammalian cell culture activities, including aseptic processing, cell expansion, and culture maintenance.
• Support upstream process development experiments and bioreactor operations for biologic production.
• Collect samples, monitor process performance, and support data generation and analysis.
• Assist with laboratory setup, consumables management, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Support experiment execution, sample submission, and process development activities.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, experimental documentation, and data tracking systems.
• Present findings and provide updates to project teams.
• Coordinate routine laboratory operations and contribute to a safe, organized work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory or industry experience.
• Knowledge of mammalian cell culture techniques and aseptic laboratory practices.
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mammalian cell culture, transient transfection, cell harvesting, or biologics production.
• Experience supporting upstream process development or bioreactor operations.
• Familiarity with viral vector, antibody, or recombinant protein production.
• Experience with molecular biology or biochemistry techniques such as qPCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, or Western blotting.
• Experience working in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, academic, or related research environments.
