Job summary

Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL is seeking a Molding Technician to install, operate, and troubleshoot high-speed molding machinery for food and beverage packaging components. The role focuses on routine maintenance, quality checks, and safety compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will collaborate with production, maintenance, and management teams to maximize uptime, ensure product quality, and follow GMP/HACCP standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of experience as a molding technician, mold mechanic, or related maintenance role.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Set up, process, and troubleshoot molding machinery and auxiliary equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance per schedule to maximize uptime and product quality.
Ensure parts meet all quality and safety requirements.
Monitor and maintain chiller and production system performance.
Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and management teams.
Maintain accurate documentation according to GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety standards.
Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and teamwork.
