We are currently seeking a Molding Process Technician/Operator with the following qualifications:

Summary Of Role

The Process Technician is responsible for auditing, analyzing, and documenting key parameters of the molding process for all tools as well as measuring CTQ dimensions dictated by our control plans, working with the quality group and production technicians.

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Measure CTQ dimensions and conduct visual inspections per the control plan/blueprint to help qualify runs. Document activities in the event log.
2. Measure and analyze CTQ dimensions and input them into our SPC shop floor database. Document activities in the event log.
3. Collect and monitor key molding process parameters on all validated tools looking for trends, spikes or shifts in the process and input the data into our SPC shop floor database. Document activities in the event log.
4. Set-up, removal, and general maintenance of tooling including auxiliary equipment.
5. Perform thorough quality checks and tasks with accuracy.
6. Basic tool repair and pull/set tools on molds.
7. Complete Reel and Lead Frame changes as required.
8. Load programs, set process parameters, and troubleshoot presses and tooling as required.
9. Troubleshoot machine/process problems and correct in a timely manner.
10. Respond to machine alarms, make process and/or mechanical adjustments, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
11. Provide continuous improvement and productivity ideas.
12. Monitor materials, systems, equipment, and operations by practicing 6s and Lean manufacturing principles.
13. Monitor, start, and stop work orders in IQMS.
14. Complete sample runs as necessary.
15. Ability to multi-task.
16. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
17. Work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
18. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements And Qualifications

1. Associate Degree in Manufacturing or advanced Technical Apprenticeship Program Certification.
2. 1-5 Years of experience in similar roles in injection molding preferred.
3. Knowledge of injection molding presses, molds, thermoplastics, and support equipment.
4. Mechanical background required.
5. Computer knowledge and experience with production monitoring and MRP systems.
6. IQMS system experience is a plus.
7. Basic understanding of SPCs and SQC’s.
8. Ability to read blueprints and use measurement equipment.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex problems.

Physical Demands

• Regular use of hands and fingers, reaching, talking, hearing; wearing PPE.
• Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching.
• Occasional lifting/moving over 50 pounds and heavy molds/equipment.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Work Environment

Manufacturing facility with moderate noise levels; PPE required.
