Job description

Install molds in injection molding presses and cycle in jobs to meet specifications. Work on troubleshooting with Operator and Inspection when parts fall out of specifications.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Ensure presses operate safely and correctly to produce quality products for on-time shipment to customers.
2. Set up secondary operations properly.
3. Use IQMS software to set up and enter data against work orders.
4. Collaborate with Production Supervisor on mold problem solving.
5. Promote and drive a culture of safety actively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Install and remove molds from presses safely.
• Ensure all tools and fixtures are available at the press and operational.
• Cycle in the job after mold installation is complete.
• Submit sample parts to inspection for approval.
• Instruct press operators on how to run the job and any special instructions.
• Assist press operators as needed to produce quality parts.
• Ensure all job documentation is at the press.
• Work with Shift Supervisor to resolve issues.
• Clean up the work area after completing tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING:

• Certificate from college or technical school and 2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in mold setting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles regularly.
• Occasionally work at heights, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Exposure to wet/humid conditions, chemicals, extreme heat, electrical hazards, and vibration occasionally.
• Noise level is usually loud.
