Install molds in injection molding presses and cycle in jobs to meet specifications. Work on troubleshooting with Operator and Inspection when parts fall out of specifications.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure presses operate safely and correctly to produce quality products for on-time shipment to customers.
- Set up secondary operations properly.
- Use IQMS software to set up and enter data against work orders.
- Collaborate with Production Supervisor on mold problem solving.
- Promote and drive a culture of safety actively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Install and remove molds from presses safely.
- Ensure all tools and fixtures are available at the press and operational.
- Cycle in the job after mold installation is complete.
- Submit sample parts to inspection for approval.
- Instruct press operators on how to run the job and any special instructions.
- Assist press operators as needed to produce quality parts.
- Ensure all job documentation is at the press.
- Work with Shift Supervisor to resolve issues.
- Clean up the work area after completing tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING:
- Certificate from college or technical school and 2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in mold setting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles regularly.
- Occasionally work at heights, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Exposure to wet/humid conditions, chemicals, extreme heat, electrical hazards, and vibration occasionally.
- Noise level is usually loud.
