Job summary

Impact Business Group is assisting in recruiting a Plastic Mold Tooling Technician for a third-shift, direct-hire position in Michigan. The role focuses on repairing and modifying molds, troubleshooting tooling problems, and implementing engineering changes to keep tooling ready for production.

You will work with the injection molding team to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and verify that tooling meets design specifications using drawings and engineering data.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mold-related production issues and work with the injection molding team to resolve them.
• Complete mold repairs, modifications, and engineering changes within established schedules.
• Use tooling drawings and engineering specifications to guide work and verify completed tooling meets requirements.
• Fabricate tooling and related equipment as needed.
• Use appropriate hand tools for mold maintenance and repair, and confirm required tools and equipment are ready before starting each job.
• Perform mold spotting, parting line repairs, and detailed hand-finishing work as needed.
• Document completed work accurately in the maintenance management system and follow work order procedures.
