Job summary

MGS Mfg. Group is seeking an experienced Tooling Project Manager to join the Germantown team. You will lead technical and project coordination for mold repairs, spare parts, and tooling changes within Engineering, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include defining scope, coordinating quotations, and driving projects to completion while ensuring quality and schedule adherence. Strong communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in tooling or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in plastic injection molds and tooling projects.
• Knowledge of mold components, hot runners, and design changes.
• Ability to read drawings and translate findings into clear instructions.
• Experience coordinating quotations, purchasing, and project documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication with engineers, suppliers, and customers.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing with GMP/GDP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical and project coordination lead for mold repairs, spare components, design changes, and replacement tooling.
• Define technical problem, scope, requirements, urgency, and outcomes with stakeholders.
• Prepare scope-of-work, quotes, proposals, CAD markups, and cost summaries for review.
• Communicate with customers and program managers to obtain timely approvals.
• Coordinate internal/external mold shops for repair or replacement work.
• Review quotations, purchase requests, logistics, and documentation.
• Maintain a project tracker with milestones, costs, risks, and status.
• Drive projects to conclusion with follow-up and status reporting.
• Verify repairs and design changes meet the approved scope and close records.
• Maintain records of mold spare components and tooling inventories.
