Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking a Mold Technician to repair, maintain, and set up molds for production. The role involves changing mold components, inspecting tooling, and keeping the shop safe and organized.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma, technical training, and 2+ years in a tool room or metal/plastics environment, with strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of injection molds.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree or technical training in related fields such as engineering, metalworking, mold design, etc. a plus.
• Minimum two years experience in tool room, metal or plastics manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mold complexities.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molds and use of horizontal mills, lathes, grinders.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and set up molds for production.
• Change components of family molds to facilitate different products.
• Inspect and repair molds; lubricate and maintain tools.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment (Bridgeport, lathe, grinder, cut off saw).
• Move dies and molds using cranes and lift trucks; maintain a safe tool room environment.
• Follow all safety policies and company procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
