Job summary

Westfall Technik is seeking a Set-Up Technician for the 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm) to ensure efficient mold installations, changeovers, and startup in a molding environment. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, equipment readiness, and collaboration with the Molding Engineer.

The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years in a molding or setup role, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs; safety and quality standards are essential in daily activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in injection molding or mechanical systems preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a molding or setup technician role in manufacturing.
• Ability to safely install molds and operate molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, install, start up, and changeover molds with coordination to Molding Engineer.
• Ensure correct mold interfaces (water, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic) connections.
• Operate molding machines and auxiliary equipment for sample runs or production.
• Document setup processes, mold performance, material data, and shift activities in ERP tools.
• Support mold tryouts, process development, and data-driven issue resolution.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant floor and storage areas.
• Assist in materials handling, inventory control, and cross-functional support.
