Job summary

Banner Engineering, based in Minnesota, seeks a Mold Technician to support, maintain, troubleshoot, and continuously improve injection molds used in manufacturing. You will ensure molds produce high-quality parts while minimizing downtime, scrap, and costs.

You will collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, tooling suppliers, and quality teams to optimize molding processes and tooling reliability. This role reports to the Sr.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Tool & Die, Manufacturing Technology, or plastics technology.
• 5+ years of experience working with injection molds in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on mold maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting experience.
• Understanding of injection molding fundamentals and plastics processing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, mold assembly drawings, and technical specs.
• Experience with measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on injection molds.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds per maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot mold-related issues (flashing, short shots, defects, wear).
• Repair or coordinate repair of mold components (cavities, cores, slides, cooling, runners).
• Maintain mold service records and maintenance history.
