Job summary

AptarGroup, Inc. is seeking a SMED Technician to support safe and efficient mold changes and prep injection molding machines for production. You will install, remove, align, and connect molds while communicating mold-change status, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining organized mold components.

The role requires adherence to safety, SQF, and GMP procedures, along with a commitment to training teammates and maintaining a clean, safe work environment on a 12-hour rotating shift.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and safe handling of molds.
• Minimum 1 year of injection molding experience preferred; training possible for mechanically inclined.
• Crane and forklift experience preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. and be physically active.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove injection molds safely and efficiently.
• Communicate mold-change status to operators, supervisors and engineers.
• Perform mold installs with proper alignment and all connections.
• Perform mold pulls and prepare machines for incoming molds.
• Troubleshoot molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment.
• Maintain organized mold boxes and components.
• Create mold boxes and components for new molds.
• Complete LOTO, Crane, Forklift, and Fall Protection training as assigned.
• Maintain SQF and GMP procedures.
• Assist with training team members and maintain clean safe work areas.
