Job summary

BD is seeking a Mold Set-Up Technician to join its on-site manufacturing team in Utah. You will set up molds and equipment, monitor processes, and ensure quality products are produced on schedule.

Responsibilities include operating molding machines, performing quality inspections, troubleshooting defects, and supporting mold changes. The role requires PPE compliance, teamwork, and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of molding/manufacturing experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in PPE.

• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production teams.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
• Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Schedule: 5:45 AM - 6:00 PM

Join BD’s manufacturing team as a Mold Set‑Up Technician and play a key role in keeping our injection molding operations running safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standards. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for setting up molds and equipment, monitoring production processes, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring quality products are produced on schedule.

• Set up molds, injection molding machines, and auxiliary equipment
• Monitor production processes and make machine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
• Perform first article, last article, and in‑process quality inspections
• Troubleshoot molding defects and support corrective actions
• Complete production paperwork and process documentation
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs
• Support mold changes, mold maintenance, and process improvements
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, tooling, material handling, and production teams
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
• Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• 2-5 years of molding and/or manufacturing experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Basic math and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, smock, hair covering, and safety toe shoes
