Job summary

Heartland Automotive, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to coordinate and assist with preventive maintenance and machining activities. You will train associates, perform machine set-up, operate equipment safely, and ensure energy isolation and safety procedures are followed to keep production running smoothly.

You will monitor quality, document data, inspect parts, and support continuous improvement projects for EHS and TPM goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED and two years manufacturing experience (preferred with Heartland Automotive).
• Leadership and decision-making: strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
• Computer Skills: knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook; Pareto charts.
• Language Skills: read, analyze information; write reports and work instructions.
• Mathematical Skills: basic math concepts.
• Reasoning: solve practical problems with variable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist associates on preventive maintenance tasks.
• Set up machines, operate safely, ensure safety features function.
• Record scrap and dispose daily; complete rework at end of day.
• Fill in for associates as needed.
• Operate and adjust equipment for process stations.
• Perform lock-out and tag-out procedures to clear faults.
• Inform Team Leader or Production Manager of quality/safety issues.
• Complete paperwork and data entry accurately.
• Maintain 5S3D, Kaizen and SQDCME elements.
• Inspect and measure parts to verify conformance.
• Assist in adjusting machines to repair nonconforming parts and train on safety processes.
• Analyze and provide inputs to resolve work problems.
• Follow lead operators during emergencies and understand response procedures.
• Support TPM goals and continual improvement projects for EHS.
