  • Contribute to continuous improvement to reduce setup times.

Job description

Position Summary

The Die Setter / Mold Setter is responsible for performing mold and die changeovers, equipment setup, and process preparation for injection molding operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform mold and die changes according to production schedules.
  • Install, remove, and secure molds in injection molding machines
  • Verify proper machine settings and startup conditions before releasing equipment to production.
  • Troubleshoot mold setup, startup, and processing issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and support quality verification during startup.
  • Complete mold cleaning and preventive maintenance activities as required.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and mold handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate setup, changeover, and maintenance records.
  • Assist Process Technicians and Maintenance personnel with equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to reduce setup times and improve productivity.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to safely use overhead cranes and mold handling equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read setup sheets, process documentation, and work instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work around manufacturing equipment.
