Job summary

TAC Manufacturing, Inc. in Jackson, MI is hiring a Production Engineering Technician to support daily manufacturing operations by applying engineering principles to improve production efficiency and equipment performance.

This role emphasizes troubleshooting, process improvement, and maintaining product quality. You will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to reduce downtime, monitor tooling, and participate in preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

  • Complete and successfully pass required technical training within 90 days of start date.
  • Ability to climb ladders as needed.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
  • Capable of completing tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Injection molding experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all required certifications while adhering to safety regulations (Lockout/Tagout, Hard Hat, Crane Certification).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues by repairing or replacing components and adjusting programs as needed.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of all repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Complete Change Point Cards for updates or modifications to equipment or processes.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of replacement parts for end of arms and water lines; notify the Administrative Assistant when reorders are needed.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on End of Arm tooling.
  • Conduct Water Line Damage Assessments according to schedule.
  • Train alongside Maintenance to assist with minor repairs involving: Robots or sprue pickers; Dryers; Thermolators; M machines.
  • Train with Tool & Die on tooling-related tasks such as: Handling Class A tool surfaces; Removing stuck sprues.
  • Provide backup support and assistance with Die Setting.

By partnering closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams, the technician drives continuous improvement efforts that reduce downtime, increase productivity, and support the organization’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
