Job summary

Nissha Medical Technologies seeks a Mold Operator I for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thurs, 4:00pm–2:30am) to set up mold machines, inspect molded parts, and maintain equipment in a controlled manufacturing environment. You will follow SOPs and Quality System requirements to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and experience in molding or manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Experience with injection molding or operating manufacturing machines preferred.
  • Shipping and/or packaging experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow Manufacturing Assembly Instructions, Quality Standards and SOPs.
  • Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

  • Set up Mold Machines and adjust controls.
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment and molding tools.
  • On-line inspection and testing to ensure parts meet specs.
  • Package finished products and prepare for shipping.
  • Interface with Customer Service, Engineering, Scheduling, and Production to coordinate shipments.

What You Will Do

The Mold Operator I will be a key member of our production team responsible for setting up Mold Machines, general maintenance and operation, inspection of molded parts and assemblies, and other duties as assigned which may include packaging final devices and shipping finished product to end user.

This is a 2nd Shift position working Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm to 2:30am.

  • Follows all employee guidelines and Quality Systems Regulations (QSR's) as defined by Nissha Medical Technologies practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure that customer requirements and FDA (or equivalent) regulations are met.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and acts in accordance with NMT's Employee Guidelines and applicable quality standards as outlined in NMT's Quality Manual.
  • Thoroughly reads and follows all job sheets, production drawings, MAI's and R&D sample assemblies.
  • Installs molds and adjusts controls on Mold Machines.
  • Performs daily inspections on equipment and molding tools as instructed by the Molding Supervisor or designee.
  • Performs assigned jobs as required by Manufacturing Assembly Instructions.
  • Performs on-line inspection and testing to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Ensures proper placement of parts in molds.
  • Performs trouble shooting and recommends solutions to simple problems such as short shots, blow outs, flash, etc.
  • Responsible for the quality of the product produced
  • Abides by all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned which may include, but is not limited to:
  • Shipping
  • Packages finished products in appropriate containers / boxes with adequate packing materials
  • Creates and prints product labels for products being shipped.
  • Interfaces regularly with Customer Service, Engineering, Scheduling, Production and Administrative personnel regarding shipments, priorities and logistical issues.
  • Becomes familiar with Shipping software such as UPS / FedEx.
  • Packaging
  • Labeling products with a description of their contents, sealing containers with tape and completing documentation in accordance with BMED and customer requirements.
  • Performing final inspection and counts of items to ensure that they meet production standards.
  • Packaging finished goods into bags, boxes or crates and then moving them to the Shipping area for delivery.
  • Regular attendance is required.
What You Bring
Core Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Experience with injection molding and/or operating manufacturing machines is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Shipping and/or Packaging is a plus.
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions such as Manufacturing Assembly Instructions, Quality Standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The ability to perform simple writing tasks such as recording log entries, lot numbers and dates.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous related industry experience in medical device production is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in FDA/GMP/ISO environment is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $17.00 - $19.50/hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. A $0.75/hour Night Shift Differential will be paid for all hours worked on Night Shift.
