Job summary

Nissha Medical Technologies in Buffalo, NY, seeks a Machine Operator to set up and run multi-cut slitting machines with tight tolerance specs. You will manage production processes and supervise Associates to maintain productivity, quality, safety, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, training new hires, reviewing tickets, managing inventory, and ensuring materials meet specifications.

Qualifications

Job Description

• Set up and independently operate multi-cut slitting machines with close tolerance specifications for finished product, metal manufacturing machines, semi-automated or automated marker manufacturing equipment.
• Manage the manufacturing processes associated with the assigned equipment with an emphasis on productivity, quality, safety, and good housekeeping, directing the work of assigned Associates as needed.
• Maintain continuous machine operation, performing troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, and repair tasks, contacting Supervision if needed.
• Use print and work instructions to perform machine set up and operate equipment within the set quality standards.
• Perform training for new hires as assigned.
• Perform other tasks associated with the manufacturing of items including various packaging, assembly, and finishing tasks.
• Review job tickets and verify materials are available and used as specified, monitoring and maintaining inventory levels.
• Manage supplies and materials needed for production on assigned equipment.
• Use required measuring instruments (scales, micro scales, calipers, and densitometer).
• Ensure compliance with company safety rules and policies including OSHA and ISO requirements.
• Communicate and coordinate as necessary with other departments including maintenance, warehouse, quality, etc.
• Assist in material and finished product movement (hand / fork truck, etc.).
• Complete required paperwork and quality sign offs.
• Inspect finished product for any imperfections or irregularities making adjustments as needed.
• Communicate with other Machine Operators, Associates, Team Leads, and Supervisors on production issues, needs, and recommendations to improve production effectiveness and efficiency, including safety recommendations.
• Interpret production paperwork for accurate product production and shipment and prepare finished product for shipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• GED or High School diploma
• Minimum 3 years machine operation experience with an emphasis on troubleshooting and machine repair

Nissha Medical Technologies is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $17.75-$19.75. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
